The asymmetric hemline has interesting tulle fabrication at front to give special design at the waist/hip as well as the hem. There is one small net tear at the hem (will need only a few stitches, but I can't sew, so...). Label inside gown reads "Paramount" and in hand written notation, "Barbra Streisand".Yes, there are photos of Barbra Streisand wearing this nightdress from the movie, but this scene (along with many others) were cut from the final released film, but there is even a blog dedicated to ALL the cut scenes from this movie. Measures: up to 35" bust, up to 30" underbust (12" down to empire waistline from shoulder), 59" long from shoulder to hem. there are extremely minor spots here and there, but really surprisingly clean!unless you faint at the alter), and then change for your reception. But you will get your wedding photos in this HISTORIC, CECIL BEATON, BARBRA STREISAND gown without hurting it. Always great to have the absolute provenance with a wedding gown. The description of the gown from the original wedding newspaper clipping reads: "The bride wore a formal gown of light ivory bouquet taffeta with molder bodice, scalloped bateau neckline, bracelet sleeves and princess skirt with paneled Chantilly lace front, gathered side panniers and back skirt of matching lace with chapel train." Measures: 34" bust, 25" waist, 43" long from waist to hem in front and 55" long in back. There are 40 self-covered tiny buttons at the back (I hope you will forgive me for not buttoning all...It's a shame, but nice to know someone kept records, and perhaps the original clip will be available at some point! The only issue for wearing as a wedding gown are the extremely minor underarm discolorations (I know how picky brides can be), the minor spots (if you are super picky and you are getting married under bright lighting)...
Grace Kelly's bridesmaids wore Priscilla of Boston gowns in 1956. A nearly perfect condition 1930s white satin trained gown!!!There are also small marks here and there on the dress and dirty along hemline.LOVE the draping at the one side with the rope ornament!Excellent condition with only extreme minor dirt underside hemline, one very light spot on front lace (see photo) probably from the original calla lilies carried, and just the most minor pulls in the taffeta... I still want to sell items that are in good enough condition that it will survive many more years with care. I have had this gown in my own collection since 1996! Sheer chiffon at yoke and sleeves are covered with beading.Sadly there is some tearing of the chiffon on the top layer of the 3 layered chiffon/net sleeves (see photos)., and as always, there is tearing in the lining.
you really want to have a button hook for this, or a maid of honor with tiny finger with sharp nails!
